Thank you for visiting Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School of Religion online ministry.  We are happy to have you with us.  There have been a few changes from last year in regards to PSR.  This year we will start our class in the church with a prayer service and then go to the classrooms.  We will have confession for two classes each week.  Father will also be visiting the classrooms each week.  The last ten minutes of class will be devoted to a saint, so that when Confirmation comes, they will know about the saints and be able to choose one that has more meaning to them.  Also, classes will begin earlier and end later.  Classes will begin at 6:00PM in the church, and end at 7:45PM.  This change has been made to allow the children more time in class, but it also gives them more time in prayer and confession.

First Communion and Confirmation

There are a few changes in the requirements for First Communion and Confirmation.  In order to qualify to recieve First Commuion, children must attend both first and second grade classes.  The First Communion class will have their First Confession in Feburary, followed by the First Commuion Mass in April.  All children will need a baptismal record from the church they were baptized, whether that is Our Lady of Lourdes or not.  You may bring the copy of their certificate to the office at any time and a copy will be made.

In order to recieve the sacrament of Confirmation, seventh and eighth grade students must attend classes for two years prior to being confirmed.  This includes the year of their Confirmation.  They will also be required to attend a Confirmation retreat at a date to be announced.  Verification of baptism and First Communion is also needed before the sacrament can be administered.
